Makeup student and newcomer on the drag scene Ben Brownrigg (alias Bee) is definitely one to watch. From impersonation looks to originals, Ben's work is always beautiful, bold and just brilliant. I was lucky to have the chance to find out more about his style and how he has built his drag persona. Enjoy!
R- How and when did you first become interested in makeup?
B- I first became interested in makeup like 2 years ago, I watched Rupaul's Drag Race season 4 and it made me want to get in drag and also
do makeup.
R- Where do you draw your inspiration from?
B- I draw inspiration from the QUEENS of rap - Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj. Also Miss Fame is my idol.
R- Favourite high end makeup brand?
B- My favourite high end makeup would be either MAC Velvet Teddy
lipstick or the Anastasia Beverly Hills self made palette, their shadows are everything!
R- Favourite high street/drugstore makeup brand?
B- My favourite drugstore makeup brands are Makeup Revolution, Freedom Makeup, Maybelline, Rimmel London and NYX; purely because they're such good
quality.
R- If you could paint anybody, who would it be?
B- I would love to paint Lil Kim because she is the queen bee, and I love
everything she stands for.
R- If you could have anybody paint you, who would it be?
B- MISS FAME. It's so generic to say that but her artistry is truly
amazing.
R- A product everybody should have in the makeup bag is...?
B- A product everyone should have is a good old powder compact. EVERYONE
NEEDS POWDER.
R- Favourite look you have done?
B- My favourite look I have ever done was a pride look. I had the
pride flag on one side of my face and full glam on the other side.
R- Any advice for makeup beginners?
B- The only advice I can give is just be yourself. Always do you, don't
take makeup so seriously, its supposed to be fun! and keep practicing!
