Their new EP ‘ Jelly/Just Like You’ is being officially
released on April 29th (click the song titles to live stream them now), and is ready for pre-order now here on their website and after taking a listen for myself its clear to see Nai Harvest are certainly talented.
The beats in each song respectively had me tapping my toes or nodding my head like a middle aged mum in unison with the guitar and the drums. When looking up Nai Harvest I couldn’t help but feel
like they were just nice normal guys, especially when I ran into this on their
pre-order page.
“A dollar from every pre-order
of the black variant will be donated to A
Charity of the bands choice.”
What struck me with this was that even though
these guys are gaining well-earned success they’re helping others out along the
way, something that even those at the top of the musical food chain don’t tend to do
very often. My hat goes off to you boys. And if this isn’t another reason to
download their EP I don’t know what is.
Yeah - but what is their music like?
- Hypnotically satisfying Guitar playing.
- Very catchy hook.
- Lyrically and vocally makes for a very easy, yet fresh song to listen to.
- Again, beat makes me nod my head like a middle age mum.
- I feel like I should be standing on a street corner of Camden with Doc Martins on drinking overpriced independent beer.
This song has a punky 1980’s feel to it, but with a twist. The vocals are a lot smoother than what is typical of original punk. I’m super impressed by their guitar/drum playing. For a band of just two guys, you really get the feel that a lot of talent is being put into creating the backing beats, and all the layers on top of it. I really enjoy the guitar solo around the 1:19 mark. I could totally imagine playing this in the car and using the dashboard as a drum kit. They’re incredibly talented.
- Electric Guitar skills on point. I really like what these guys do with their instruments as it makes their songs so endlessly playable?
- If you played this at a party they wouldn’t take the aux cable away from you.
- I appreciate the lead vocals.
- Catchy - I found myself singing along on the first listen and singing along confidently by the second.
- Definitely a head banging beat.
- The 'oh’s' and 'ow’s' are interesting. I like enthusiasm in vocals.
Just Like You feels like the poppier song of
the two, this however is in no way a bad thing. It has a lighter feel to it
than Jelly. I feel very summery listening to it and I am defiantly adding both
of these songs to my summer playlist when they’re released April 29th.
If you're into alt-rock musical stylings, Nai Harvest should be the new additions to your playlist. They’re definitely a band to watch for.
