COME TOGETHER: EUROVISION 2016

The time has finally come, Eurovision week is upon us. It is a time where people in Europe feel united by music, and now, the rest of the world is joining! Australia are performing again, and for the first time, Eurovision is being broadcast on American TV. With this, and the 350 million video views that the competition recieves on YouTube annually, the slogan for this year is perfect.

'Come Together.'

The Eurovision Song Contest began as just a one night show, with only 25 countries competing. This year, it's a three night extravaganza, with 43 nations competing to win the song contest. All of the songs that each nation are putting forward have been recorded, and are available on the 2016 Eurovision album, released via Universal Music. Some of the tracks include Ireland's entry, Sunlight by the former Westlife member Nicky Byrne. Sweden's entry, 'If I Were Sorry' has already been streamed over 25 million times on Spotify. However, the entry that is proving most likely to win is Russia's entry, 'You Are the Only One', which is also available on the Eurovision album.

'This year's contest is sure to be full of surprises.'

Says Jon Ola Sand, the Executive Producer of tne ESC. 'Songwriters keep writing better songs. Artists keep amazing audiences with stunning performances. We push the boundaries of technology,' Sand adds. With Sweden's incredible performance of 'Heroes' by Måns Zelmerlöw which won them the competition, it must be pretty hard to push the boundaries of technology this year.

However, we have the promise that this the competition this year will be better than ever. Måns, last year's winner, will be hosting the final of the competition, along with Swedish comedian, Petra Mede on May 14th. But you don't have to wait to listen to the tracks! You can live your Eurovision fantasy at home, in the car, or out with your friends by purchasing the Eurovision 2016 album. From Friday 17th of June, a DVD of the show will be available, so you can relive the magic over and over again.

The album is available for purchase here, or you can pick up a physical copy in stores. With this year's competition sounding like the best yet, why would you want to miss out?
