LECAUDÉ: POWDER BLUE

I have been met with a musical talent so thrillingly invigorating I’m not sure I can quite fathom my brain to string all the words needed together.

Nevertheless, I will try.

London’s own electronically fused artist, Lecaudé has revealed his second single of 2016 today. ‘Powder Blue’ is the next look into the 'Circles' EP, which is due for release in June 2016. It will be a follow up from the earlier feature of the year; highly successful lead single of the EP which the blogosphere has already been galvanized by.

Being one to be ridden with severe stress most days and nights (i.e. burning my ready-meal spaghetti bolognese), I do live for music that has a soothing nature: Lecaudé’s ‘Powder Blue’ gives off exactly that and more.

Frankly, the only way to describe the track’s feeling is that it brings you under the ocean, followed by a journey to the stratosphere. Described by The Line of Best Fit as Glitzy, incandescent indie pop,” the kaleidoscopic sound fills you to the brim with an uncanny soothness. Yet, at the same time, it leaves you swaying to the mesmerizing harmonies mid song.

The song is very fluid, and whether that’s the art on the cover of the single influencing me or not I cannot quite guess.

Lecaudé is the self-titled solo project of producer, songwriter and singer Jack Durtnall, playing a blend of lyrically-driven electronic pop and soul. In his upcoming EP, he has taken to providing his own vocals. The artist is finally breaking out on his own after his being the driving creative force behind the duo Little Shoes Big Voice - and the world should be excited for it.

According to Lecaudé, this particular track is is “a multi-sensory raising of sex to the pedestal of art. I wanted it to be the sonic version of making your own DIY Yves Klein painting at home.”
