British/Russian singer-songwriter & producer Shura is one of the hottest up and coming artists on the music scene. Her debut single 'Touch' has garnered over 30 million plays and praise from some of the biggest names in music such as Kylie Minogue & Jungle; as well as having being declared Radio 1's track of the day earlier this year.
As a teenager, she played for Manchester City Girls for five years - before a “Lara Croft moment” saw her travel to South America after her studies - giving her the time to articulate a messy break-up into a record.
Her much anticipated debut album 'Nothing's Real' will be released on July 8th, with 'Space Tapes' - a psychedelic rework of some of the record’s highlights laid down straight to tape - available upon pre-order of the album right now. She is also currently supporting CHVRCHES around the UK and Europe, before taking to the stage in a homecoming show at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on May 26th.
'Nothing's Real' features songs written and recorded over two years in her Shepard's Bush bedroom - the site of which is blown up on the album’s striking artwork – but also reaches back further than that: into parents, childhood, past relationships and the possibilities of the future. All threaded together across the album’s often-affecting narrative, the record incorporates everything Shura loves – from early Madonna to Sci-Fi, and War on Drugs to gaming – but is also the sound of an artist pushing themselves further, harder.
