Audiophelle: Matt Corby

Matt Corby: a name probably unfamiliar to most but to me and other young people around Australia he is known as one of the biggest rising stars in Aussie music. He first burst onto my television screen during the fifth season of Australian Idol at just 16 years old. His vocal talent combined with those bright blue eyes are what led many young girls to fall head over heels.

However, it wasn't until much later in 2011 that Corby truly made his impact on the Australian music scene with his debut EP 'Into The Flame'. The combination of upbeat 'indie' sounding tracks and soulful ballads caused the EP to be extremely successful; peaking at number 3 on the Australian charts.

Corby's music takes me to a place of relaxation and super chilled vibes; a bit of a change from the electronic rush in a lot of the music that plays on the radio.

While Corby has released other music since then, 'Into The Flame' has certainly been the most popular (and my personal favourite). The first single 'Brother' is an absolute banger and one that still appears regularly on my playlist. Once you start listening, you'll soon find Corby's music will be on repeat for weeks. If his current discography is something to go by, we can certainly expect a lot from Matt Corby in the future. His talent is undeniable and he certainly deserves the global success all artists crave.
